"He also makes a big deal of the fact that while Rage will almost certainly look and run better on the PlayStation 3, he believes the 360 is the better hardware over all, because id is having to put double the work into the PS3 port."
That analysis of what Carmack said, tells it all. The only advantage that Sony has with the PS3 is storage. Plain and simple. It's not more powerful or better than the 360. Discussion is done.
To get what the 360 does with ease yo...
Will sell more than 2 million. Somewhere between 3 or 4 mill. My hope is that there is some good multiplayer aspects, that will push the games sales and longevity.
My boy has all three consoles, and scoups up more games than me. I played Uncharted, and this whole delusion of it being such a monster graphically is a damn lie. How many titles does Microsoft have that have taken as long as Killzone 2 or MGS4 to develop for? A developer has to literally bet the lively hoods of their company and their staff. You guys just keep missing that, and its pretty damn sad. By the time costs come down for development we'll be in a new generation.
I believe him. SE is spending a fortune on FF13. Don't think for a second they haven't watched the PS3 gamer purchase habits. There is no way that user base would make up the development cost. If the PS3 were at a better place FF13 wouldn't be leaving exclusivity.
Mii rip off...Fine...Achievement rip off, motion (PS3 6 axis)...Of course, and fine. Basically they all did it.
Seeing as how they started online gaming off with the Xbox, then I believe they had some...
a programmers perspective. You are going to get better, and more performance from the 360. The amount of investment and time a developer is willing to put into development of PS3 titles is what gives the system it's technical edge.
The reality though is that not to many developers have the money to invest in just PS3 development. I guess that's why we are hearing so much of this first party chitter chatter from the PS3 camp. Then the scary part is that most of those first party...
Bioware has already stated that Mass Effect in it's current form will stay on the 360. Go look it up.
You guys want to disagree with me and that's fine it's your perogative, and I respect your oppinoins. I just find it said that the reality of whats going on just escapes you guys. I mean haven't you noticed that Sony has a ten year plan and is blundering through the most important times of a gaming system life cycle? You guys can down play the 360 all you want. Yet the reality ...
life happens in circles and cycles. Fianally it's coming around again.
Let me get this out the way. In order for your logic to even be credible. Sony's first party titles actually have to be good. Lair, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted don't cut it. Neither does a Killzone 2 that has to make up for the first one being utter gutter trash, being development longer than Gears. Both of which were annouced at the same time. Resistance 1 was decent at best. So lets not inflate the first...
Last time I checked more games were being sold on the 360 than other console. Add to the fact Microsoft being in their second generation as a platform holder, I'd say they are doing pretty damn good with exclusives and 3rd parties.
Man I remember a time when Sony was the one gobbling up all the third party developers and exclusives they could get their hands on. Now Microsoft is the bad guy for playing the game...
the way haters roll my dude. Halo 3 gets hated on because it's exceptional. Honestly I didn't even buy Halo 3 when it came out. I wanted the hype to die down, and whats even more vile when I bought the game it just sat. The first time I played it was when GTA4 froze on me for the 8th time. I popped the game in...Now I'm one of the reasons Halo 3 is back at the top. Solid, solid, solid game...period
find funny is how the majority of developers the world over have said that developing for the PS3 is a huge task. Then the irony of PS3 fanboys is that they say the 360 is holding their console God back. GTA4 is a game that was proven to be held back because of PS3 difficulty. Rockstar has no loyalty to Microsoft so they don't benefit from having the game there as the lead. Valve one of the most revered developers in the world is called lazy when they rightfully lay waste to what Sony would h...
really, want to play this game. Watching videos of it, it's like nothing I've seen before. The character reminds me of that Disney movie with the same look; helmet, and rocket backpack. One of the coolest videos was of the character just flying around, and landing on aircrafts. Yeah my grubby hands want bad...
How many fanboy's continue to talk about Sony's first party developers and the amount they have. Yet, where have the vast majority of them been? Insominiac isn't one of a first party developer, but have managed to be Sony's best developer, outside of Naughty Dog. So where are the rest of their stable?
Another thing that I scoff at is the notion that Microsoft is worse to wear from not having a large first party pedigree. Let's put this in perspective. Sega during Sony's foray w...
part about this is that both companies are making some kind of profit. As for there being a new Xbox of some kind on the horizon, I think people need to relax and sit down. Microsoft won't release a new one, thats why they are spacing out their annoucement of games, and new features. You take a look at what they are doing with Netflix, and community gaming they have plans for the system to be here for a while. Microsoft also is looking at the whole ecosystem with how the PS2 is selling, so I ...
mind numbing. How interested were those chicks in what he was saying? Did you hear him talk over his points, and not finish? lol, goodness he was under pressure. Hey pressure busts pipes, right...
in many peoples view of this whole thing, comes down to understanding Microsoft's need. If they were to aquire Take Two, does the company and titles it releases aid Microsoft more than hurt them? I would say yes and no. They would have to stream line the Take Two management, and gut some of their portfolio if the answer is yes.
No would be my answer if they are not on the up curve of new content. Then you have to realize that Microsoft inheirts thier sports business again. Whi...
Thats folks actually saying its a good thing that Sony has less stellar titles. With that logic the PS2 with its consoles sold, and quality titles really was the worst system, and the Xbox was better?
Yeah think about that Sony Bricade...In case you don't know what I mean, I'm saying it's ass backwards to say that because of the quantity of games the 360 has less quality. When the proof is otherwise. The Xbox 360 has the most quality software, along with the most titles across ...
